Sideboard
Berlin - Santiago
This sideboard was designed and made by commission for a small family in Berlin, to serve both it's living and dining spaces. It is constructed entirely out of wood and features vertical wooden panels on its facade.
The doors slide in both directions to reveal storage, and the back has a vertical lattice that allows the unit to work as a space divider, adding light and air to the interior.
The whole unit is made out of clear Nordic pine wood, without knots, and rests on four wooden pegs, which are part of the main structural frames.
Its joints where solved taking both traditional carpentry and cabinet making as reference, and they include half-lap, dowel and miter joints, all glued.
Dimensions are 165x38x90cm (LxWxH).
